Position Title: Cider Tapster, Part-Time

Wage Grade: $17 Hourly + Tips + Upsell Bonus Incentives

For this position, we’re looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, friendly and independent people to help serve draught cider and support the Reveille brand at our outdoor patio in downtown Astoria. For this summer position, we’re seeking people who thrive in an environment that includes multitasking, customer engagement, working in a small team and helping to rebuild community.

About the Position:

Our ideal candidate will have tasting room or bar experience, be highly organized, and reasonably well-versed on current craft beverage trends. Previous beer and cider knowledge and enthusiasm is a plus. The knowledge of —and ability to speak about— the styles and techniques of cider-making is a huge plus.

This position requires open availability and involves working nights and weekends. Patio hours are TH-M, 12-8 and 12-9 (12-4 on Sundays), with two, single-employee shifts per day (except Sundays).

Server Requirements:

  • Age: 21 and over only
  • Must be willing and able to wear a mask at all times and follow all COVID protocols
  • MUST be COVID vaccinated and provide a valid CDC vaccination card as proof
  • 1 year minimum bartending or serving experience
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • A guest-first attitude
  • Passion for craft beverages
  • Consistent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and sales skills (we aim to sell product to-go to every customer)
  • Expert multitasker and self-starter
  • Must have valid OLCC server cards, driver’s license with clean record, and a clean criminal record
  • Good interpersonal skills and ‘got your back’ team attitude
  • Excellent communication skills and responsiveness - both written and verbal


  • Providing the best cider experience possible for our guests
  • Help customers learn about Reveille cider styles and flavor profiles, as well as the cider-making process; requires commitment to learning
  • Taking pride in and maintaining an organized and clean work space
  • The ability to anticipate guest needs
  • Setting up/breaking down the tap/glassware systems
  • Setting up/breaking down the patio (seating/umbrellas)
  • General side-work and weekly cleaning projects are part of our culture
  • Clearing, sanitizing and resetting of tables as quickly as possible
  • Open and close the taproom patio
  • All customer sales and service occur outdoors on our walk-up patio (no indoor transactions or work-sharing)

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to regularly lift/carry 50 pounds and move kegs
  • Able to work in an indoor and outdoor environment with sometimes slippery floors
  • Able to work in varying degrees of temperature that are typical for Astoria
  • Ability to tolerate a fast work pace that is typical for a taproom
  • Able to work 4-5 hours on your feet
